Progress Exchange 2013It’s finally here! After months of preparations we’re proud to announce that Progress Exchange begins today. Over the course of the next three days, we’ll be bringing together developers, business leaders, journalists and industry analysts from more than 30 countries around the world for education and insight into the latest trends in application development.

Join us on the ground as attendees participate in more than 75 hours of interactive sessions, hands-on labs, demos, and workshops led by Progress experts and executives.  We’ll be showcasing photos and videos on our Twitter, Facebook and Google+ page as well as keeping you up to date on all the ongoing contests and parties! See below for an overview of all that we have going on. Also, be sure to follow the #PRGS13 on Twitter for real-time updates from key sessions and keynotes!

Social Media Trivia Contest

Attendees can follow along on Twitter to play the Progress Exchange Trivia contest and win prizes. During the show @ProgressSW will tweet out 10 Exchange-themed trivia questions and the first person to respond correctly with the #PRGS13 hashtag will win a prize. To participate, attendees should look for tweets starting with “TRIVIA.”

What Are You Looking Forward to Contest

To celebrate the start of Progress Exchange, we are also running the “What Are You Looking Forward to at Exchange?” contest via our Twitter and Facebook channels. Submit what you are most looking forward to at Progress Exchange starting through Monday October 7th at 4pm ET to enter for your chance to win some awesome prizes!

Click! Game

Click! is a photo scavenger hunt game taking place during Progress Exchange.  Participants can take various photo challenges around the show floor to earn points for awesome prizes! Attendees can access the game through the Progress Exchange Mobile App where they will see the list of challenges. Winners will be announced at the closing session on Tuesday afternoon, October 8th at 4:30 pm. See full contest rules below.

The CLICK Contest Official Rules

  1. ELIGIBILITY. The Progress Software Corporation (“Progress”) CLICK Contest (the “Contest”) is a contest offered worldwide that is open to registrants of Progress Exchange conference who are individuals eighteen (18) years of age or older and the age of legal majority in his or her state or jurisdiction of primary residence at the time of entry (“Participant”).  The Contest is void in Rhode Island and where prohibited or restricted by law. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, provincial and local laws. Employees of Progress, and any of their related companies, subsidiaries, affiliates and agents and any agencies or other companies involved in the development or execution of the Contest or production or distribution of Contest materials, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings, and children) and household members of each employee are not eligible to win Prizes (defined below) but are able to participate. Participants must NOT be under any contractual or other legal obligation that would conflict with this Contest or these Official Rules.
  2. TIMING. The Contest begins at 8:00 AM EST on October 6, 2013 and ends at 5:00 PM EST on October 8, 2013 (the “Contest Period”.)  All Entries (defined below) must be received by 12:00 PM EST on October 8, 2013.  Progress is the official time-keeper for the Contest.
  3. HOW TO ENTER. Participants must download the free Progress Exchange app via iTunes or GooglePlay on their smartphones.  Take pictures with your smartphone per the instructions provided in the app and receive the designated number of points for each picture taken.
  4. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY.  Any incomplete, inaccurate or false Entries will be excluded.  Material owned by a third party, or the use of any trademarks, service marks, logos, brands, or products other than those owned by Progress are strictly prohibited. Language that is defamatory, obscene, lewd, or inappropriate, is also prohibited.
  5. ODDS OF WINNING. The odds of winning will be determined by the number of eligible Entries received.
  6. PRIZES. The prizes (“Prizes”) are as follows:
    1. FIRST PLACE:  Black 16GB Apple iPad Mini, WiFi only, with an approximate retail value of $329 USD.
    2. SECOND PLACE: Canon PowerShot SX160 IS 16.0 MP Digital Camera with 16x Wide-Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom with 3.0-Inch LCD (Black) with an approximate retail value of $145 USD.
    3. THIRD PLACE: Fujifilm Instax MINI 7s White Instant Film Camera with an approximate retail value of $58 USD.

Prize values are calculated based on Recommended Retail Price (RRP) in the United States of America. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash and cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion.  Progress reserves the right in its sole discretion to substitute the Prize with a prize of equal or lesser value. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, does not meet eligibility requirements, or otherwise does not comply with these Official Rules, then the winner will forfeit the Prize and an alternate winner with the next highest score will be selected from remaining eligible Entries. No more than the stated number of Prizes will be awarded. All federal, state, and local taxes, fees, and surcharges on each Prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.

  1. WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION.  Participants do not need to be present at the closing session of Progress Exchange to win. The top three (3) Participants with the highest number of points collected during the Contest Period will win the corresponding Prize. In the event of a tie, a drawing will be held and the winner selected at random. The drawing will be held prior to 4:30 PM EST on October 8, 2013. Winners will be announced on-stage at the closing session of Progress Exchange between 4:30-5:00 PM EST on October 8, 2013.
  2. PUBLICITY. Except where prohibited, participation in the Contest constitutes winner’s consent to Progress’ use of winner’s name at Progress Exchange held in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, without further payment or consideration. Winners may be required to complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release, and where lawful, a Publicity Release, and other required information within 5 business days of notification.
  3. MATERIALS/RIGHTS IN SUBMISSION. Without limiting the generality of these Official Rules, Participants irrevocably grant to Progress an exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable, fully sub-licensable (through multiple tiers) and transferable license, without any additional consideration to Participant to reproduce, use, download, view, print, copy (whether onto hard disk or other media), perform and display (publicly or otherwise), and otherwise use and exploit Participant’s Entry for any and all purposes in any and all media consistent with the operation of the business of Progress. Participant represents that he/she is legally entitled to grant the above license to the Entry.
  4. GENERAL CONDITIONS. If any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Progress’ reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, Progress reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and/or determine the winners from among all eligible Participants as of the date of termination using the procedures and criteria outlined above. Progress further reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any Participant who violates these Official Rules or interferes with this Contest in any manner and void all associated entries for any reason. Entries not complying with all rules are subject to disqualification. Progress’ failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Each Participant hereby acknowledges and agrees that the relationship between Participant and Progress is not a confidential, fiduciary, or other special relationship. Neither Progress or its officers, directors, shareholders and employees (collectively “Releasees”) shall be held liable and Progress shall be held harmless for any damage, loss or injury to Participant or any third party resulting from participation in this Contest or for the use or misuse of any prize or Releasee’s use of any rights granted herein; nor for incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, for any human or other error, for any injury to person or property, arising from Participant’s participation in this Contest or any Contest-related activity or from the acceptance, receipt, possession, use or misuse of any Prize. Releasees are not responsible for lost, late, damaged, delayed, incorrect, ineligible or misdirected Entries, or for any other errors or problems of any kind in connection with or relating to the Contest. In no event shall Progress be liable for, and Participant waives all rights to, any indirect, punitive, special, incidental or consequential damages incurred by Participant or any third party, arising out of or resulting from this Contest or any related materials, whether in an action in contract or tort, however caused and regardless of the theory of liability, even if Participant has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Progress makes no representations or warranties whatsoever, in fact or in law, including but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, title, and fitness for a particular purpose, whether oral, express, implied or statutory and hereby disclaims any and all warranties relating to this Contest or any related materials.
  5. DISPUTES. Except where prohibited, all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of Participant and Progress in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts of the United States. Any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event attorneys’ fees.
  6. PRIVACY POLICY. By registering and submitting an Entry, Participants consent to the collection, use, disclosure and processing of their personal information by Progress in the United States of America for the purposes of administering the Contest and fulfilling the Prizes, and otherwise in accordance with Progress’ privacy policy, a copy of which is available at http://www.progress.com/privacy.  The personal data collected are mandatory.  The Participant may be disqualified if the required personal data is not provided.  The Participant has the right to access his/her personal data and to request that Progress correct his/her personal data.  Any request from Participant relating to personal data must be addressed to: makeprogess@progress.com.
  7. SPONSOR AND PROMOTER. The sponsor and promoter of this Contest is Progress Software Corporation, headquartered at 14 Oak Park Drive, Bedford, Massachusetts 01370 USA.
  8. OFFICIAL RULES. These rules, terms and conditions comprise the Contest’s Official Rules. These Official Rules are dated as of September 30, 2013. These Official Rules cannot be modified or superseded except by Progress, in its reasonable discretion.
